My apologies...I forgot to add that I did disable Download Helper and it still hangs in hourglass if I decide to right click a picture and choose "save as"....

Just been reading about this at Mozilla it appears that they need to be removed rather than disabled

Remove Download Manager plugins
On Windows, third-party download manager plugins can interfere with Firefox downloads.
Download Manager plugin files that get added to the Firefox plugins folder include the following, listed by the download manager program and the associated plugin filename:
GetRight: NPGetRt.dll
WinGet: NPWinGet.dll
Download Accelerator Plus: npdap.dll
FreshDownload: npfd.dll
Net Transport: NPNXCatcher.dll, NPNXCatcher(Audio).dll, and NPNXCatcher(Video).dll

I removed it...then uninstalled Firefox....then reinstalled Firefox....and I still see the hourglass....

This is a weird one .. Could you confirm that you do not have the same problem in IE

For firefox, do this At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the History menu and select Clear Recent History....
and retry

Hello,

It works great with IE....

With Firefox....You have brought up something...The version that I use at work (on my desktop), I can do the steps that you gave me...But on the laptop (the one we're fixing), I have downloaded Firefox (from the Mozilla website), and the Mozilla emblem is at the top left corner (different from the one I have at work)....and I can't do the steps you gave me...Am I doing something wrong?

What version firefox do you have ?

Subject to no further problems :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean :thumbsup:

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

    :Commands
    [resethosts]
    [emptytemp]
    [CLEARALLRESTOREPOINTS]
    [Reboot]

  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Remove ComboFix
  • Hold down the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will display the Run dialogue box
  • In the Run box, type in ComboFix /Uninstall
    (Notice the space between the "x" and "/")
    then click OK

  • A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

I have solved the issue....I didn't have a location to download the pictures/video to....I just set it to save on desktop...and it works...
