Hello,

For the past week I´ve been experiencing blue screen crashes on my system and it´s getting to a point where it crashes 2 or 3 times a day. I´ve followed instructions on other posts regarding the same kind of issue IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL but so far I´ve got no luck. I have updated my drivers, checked many times that my RAM and other cards are properly seated and uninstalled recent software. However, I cant get this computer to work like it used to. So I´m posting here my Bsod.txt file to see if anyone here can help me figure out what is it that I´m missing...

I´m running Windows Vista. AMD Phenom X3. My computer is a DX4200-02m

Thanks in advanced!

:welcome:
It looks to be your hard drive is having issues so we are going to check it first.

Tutorial for running chkdsk in Vista\Win 7 located HERE.

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, try the Hitachi DFT CD Image version of the software

Thanks to Broni for the instructions

Ok, so far Iīve ran chkdsk and also renamed the file athur.sys for athur.bak as I read in another forum discussing blue screen errors related to this kind of crashes. Itīs been 3 days and my computer hasn't displayed the blue screen error so far.

I also tried to run the hard drive diagnosis tool for my Maxtor hard drive but I didn't fully understand how to do this. I downloaded the exe file but it wouldn't run. Should I burn it on a CD or something?

Thanks a LOT for the support. I will keep you posted in case blue screen appears again.

Did you download the ISO or a EXE file?
This is the one you need to get so that you can make it a bootable disk. That way it will load into memory without being in Windows. Use the instructions in pst 2 so you can make the disk correctly.

I downloaded the exe file. I get it now. I will download the iso file, burn the ISO image file in a CD and will run it on boot.

So, I finally ran the Hard drive diagnostics. 2 out of my 3 hard drives had issues. One was succesfully fixed by the Maxtor PowerMax, but the other one says needs to be replaced. The code came: de9aad75 I will make a backup of my data and replace it. Hopefull thatīll fix the problem, right?

Thanks!

OK that is strange because all your errors have to do with the OS.

Sorry for the delayed response!

After running checkdisk again and still getting my system crash I got annoyed and reinstalled Windows. However, I switched hard drives and installed the new OS on the fixed disk that I was using as storage. So far so good, no more blue screens until now. I didnīt uninstall the faulty OS, so whenever I have the time I will probably go back and see if I can fix it.

Thanks a lot for your help anyways!

No results of the chkdsk posted.

This further suggest a problem with the hard drive since it is not happening on a different drive. :whistling:
I am still suspicious of the original OS drive being the issue. If you are 100% sure the hard drive is bad you can attempt to do a parallel installation on that drive which would allow you to save your data on the installation if it works with no problems. We would then have to delete the old installation after you verify everything.
