Thank you so very much for guiding me through this tangled mess. You never really understand how little you understand about computers until you encounter problems with malware. I really appreciate your help!

Following are programs that should be uninstalled:

Obsolete:
Java™ 6 Update 20 (64-bit) (To get the latest version of the 64 bit Java you must use the 64 bit IE to go to java.com.)
Java™ 6 Update 31 (java.com)
Adobe Reader 9.5.1 MUI (adobe.com)

Unneeded:
Ask Toolbar
Ask Toolbar Updater
Bing Bar
Bing Rewards Client Installer
