I fought through EVERYTHING and now I have all the softare, including the ridiculous little DVD/MPEG2 encoder required to encode and burn DVD movies using Nero Express 6.
I've fought through all the little work-arounds on my own up until now.
First let me say this: I am using DVD+R media and my DVD Player supports this media, as well.
Problem: Using NeroVision Express 3, I encode the video to be placed on my DVD. I don't burn it right off, I save it to the HD as a VIDEO_TS folder first. Ok, I have tried encoding using single pass and multipass with VBR, neither effects teh end result. I ahve also tried changing the aspect ratio from Auto to 4:3 and to 16:9, same end results apply.
Anyhow, I test this VIDEO_TS folder using my PowerDVD software. It works perfectly.
I open up Nero Express. I choose either DVD Movie or Data (the end result is the same regardless). I drop on the VIDEO_TS folder. 8 minutes later, the DVD pops out of my machine with a satisfying "Completed" message.
I push the drawer closed and test it using both my PowerDVD and the WinDVD. Both play the disc perfectly.
Eject. Open standalone DVD player connected to tv. Insert Disc. Close drawer. Loads. Title meanu appears.... THere's only one teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy, miniscule little problem here.... About 10-20 pixels worth gets sheered off the video's perimeter...
Yes, the DVD will play, and if I set the zoom level to 1/2x I can see the WHOLE picture, with a letterbox style fram not only sandwiching the video above and below but also to both sides. However on normal zoom it trims all this area off, leaving me missing roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of the video.
It's driving me insane.
Anyone have any solutions? Well, aside from "buy the full version!" since I'm basically broke. And don't even think of recommending pirated versions. I just need to figure out what I may be doing wrong or what I need to do to get the video to display properly.
