Hi,
Make sure all the Hard Disk cables are firmly connected to the motherboard and to the HDD, the HDD will have two cables connected one for power and other for data (red cable connects to the motherboard).

Did you replace the motherboard with the exact make and model motherboard?
If not then the drivers probably will not allow it to boot correctly.
As far as not seeing it in bios is it a IDE or SATA drive?

Great to hear , how did you resolve it?
Is the network connection on the motherboard? If so we need to know the motherboard make and model to help. Sadly you have provided us with no info.

OK now lets see if it is even recognized.
Please Go to
1: START and the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop
Attach it to your next reply

I don't understand your answer. If the computer in question is not capable of getting on the internet then are you using a different dell laptop to reply to me here?
By locked on the above mentioned entries are you saying there is a yellow exclamation mark or a red X on those entries?

This padlock situation has me scratching my head. Let me ask can you restart the system and go into Safe Mode with Networking. See if the it works then. If so we may be dealing with a driver or service issue.
