Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to help me. My wife was trying to open a folder that contains many of her important documents and was unable to do so. I couldn't either unless I moved the folder into a new folder with a different name or changed the name of the folder. Once I changed the name of the folder we could open it. Other folders in my documents open just fine. What is the problem?

I am running an HP P6404y with Win7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Edit: If I create a new, empty, folder with the old name I still can't open it.

Thanks for the reply, Essexboy.

It's my wife's name Christine. It has a lot of her documents in it. I was able to open the folder when I changed the name to Christines Stuff. A new and empty folder named Christine will not open in Documents but will if I put it on the desktop.

OK the next question is do you wish to retain that name or are you happy to be without it. I can find no reason why it should not open as it is not reserved. If need be I can help you take ownership of the folder
