OK. Can you tell me how is your system now? Is there any error messages?

From what I see you should be able to access Internet now.

Hi, we can access internet, but system does seem slow at times. The folder that contained the original suspect files does not open on computer startup. Should i delete those files? I have also noticed that my antimalware programme is not updating , so will try uninstall, reinstall.
Do you have any other suggestions or do you think we have sorted what we originally set out to do.
regards

Can you write me full path to that directory (for example C:\Program Files\Bad directory)

I have also noticed that my antimalware programme is not updating , so will try uninstall, reinstall.

Yes please. Try to reinstall your antivirus solution and let me know results.

Do you have any other suggestions or do you think we have sorted what we originally set out to do.

After we sort these first two problems we will try to speed your system a little bit so stick with me.

Hi tobefree2,

Step 1

I don't think it's bad but let check it out.

Please go to: VirusTotal
  • Click the Choose File button and search for the following file:

    c:\documents\hrupprog.die.now

  • Click Open
  • Then click Scan it! button
  • Please be patient while the file is scanned.
  • Once the scan results appear, please provide them in your next reply.

NOTE: If it says already scanned -- click Reanalyze now button

Step 2

Can you please uninstall your antivirus and try one of these:

Try to update it and let me know results.

Step 3

Please don't forget to include these items in your reply:

  • VirusTotal log
It would be helpful if you could post each log in separate post using "Add Reply" button
