Spyware from SupportSoft provided to manufacturers, such as Sony (Vaio Support Agent) and Toshiba (Virtual Tech), and ISPs, such as Comcast, Cox and Charter (Pipeline Support Agent), that allows them to offer on-line support. This part ensures that software is installed correctly. Regarded as spyware as it has the ability to retrieve user information. I would ask your ISP on how to remove it and why they installed it in the first place. Please do not uninstall the program, since it looks like it is required for your internet connection. This especially applies to those who use SBC as their ISP (Internet Service Provider). If they can't/won't resolve this problem for you, then it's time to switch to another provider that don't embed this spyware in their program. You will most likely also have BroadJump installed. The same situation applies here also. Try to find out how to remove it from your ISP. Thanks for the help. I followed your instructions, with a few detours.

I didn't check this off because that "web.htm" is a HTML page I created to use as my home page. If you still think I should get rid of it, let me know.

7. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

When I hit F8, a DOS menu popped up, but I didn't see any option for "Safe Mode". My CD-rom & floppy drives were listed, so I just picked one and then it started up. Then I went in and followed steps 8 & 9 like you said.

I didn't check this off because that "web.htm" is a HTML page I created to use as my home page. If you still think I should get rid of it, let me know.

Thats perfectly fine It looks exactly like a hijacked page, thats the only reason I had asked you to remove it.

I guess I'll keep an eye on it and see how things go the next few days.
