Trying to repair xp

Followed directions to repair xp with yhe disc. When it gets to searching for versions it just gets stuck there and nothing comes up Any suggestions?? Thanks

Hi Jerryo, Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about the problem when doing a repir to XP
Are you using a genuine MS XP installation disc? and is it the correct version Home or Pro etc.?
Make and model number of your computer is also helpful together with details of what you have tried so far and the underlying symptoms that indicate that you need to do a repair install.
This sort of information will give any helper a useful starting point to advise you on how best to proceed.

Thanks for your reply, I took it to the computer repair shop up the street and the hard drive is gone. Bought a Windows 8 Samsung computer yesterday. Now going through the learning curve with that. Jerry
