Windows 7 Media Center and 2nd Monitor

Just starting using a LCD TV for my 2nd monitor. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I am connected to it using a HDMI cable. It works great for everything except windows media center. Randomly it will start giving the message Windows Explorer has stopped working. Windows media will go black, then it all lrestarts. It does this while watching a dvd through Media center and recorded TV shows. I'm at a loss for what to try next to stop the problem.
