Is the internet slow to connect or are the browsers slow ?

i'm not sure, when i click on the e for ie9, it takes up to 4 minutes for it to appear and the wheel in the tab keeps spinning.

OK lets run an elevated command prompt

Go Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right click command prompt and select Run as Administrator
In the black box type the following commands pressing enter after each :

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot and then retry

well, after 3 minutes waiting for ie9 to open up, i switched to safe mode.

that is weird, i understand alot of programs don't run in safe mode, i guess i need to figure out which one is causing the slow down.

i'm sorry for keeping you up so late too.

Not a problem... OK lets see what is conflicting with IE next. This can be a tad tedious I am afraid


Next we will check for driver conflicts

Step 1: Start MSConfig

Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

Step 2: Configure Selective Startup options

1.In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.



2.Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.

3.Click the Services tab.



4.Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
5.Click Disable All, and then click OK.
6. When you are prompted, click Restart.

Once back in windows does the problem still occur ?

If it does not then run MSConfig again and start half of the services and reboot does IE behave itself and start in a timely manner ?
If this again does not slow down IE then run MSConfig and re-enable half of the remaining services

Once the bad service has been located then let me know which one it was
