Hello,

I've been having a problem with my keyboard. I have an HP Pavillion dv7-3178ca (if that matters) and my right and left shift key seem to only capitalize certain keys.

Pressing the right shift key, this is what it looks like:

werTYiOp{} (problem on top row ... misses the 'q' altogether and only capitalizes some keys)
ASDFGHJKL:"| (no problem on middle row)
ZXCVBNM<>? (no problem on bottom row)

Pressing the left shift key this is what it looks like:

QWERTYUIOP{} (no problem on top row)
ASDFGHJKL:"| (no problem on middle row)
xcvBN,./ (problem on bottom row ... misses the 'z' and 'm' altogether and only capitalizes some keys)

Now when I press the "caps lock" key on all of the keys capitalize.

I have tried the following: updating the BIOS, uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers, turning off the Numlock on the virtual keyboard, popping off the shift keys to clean underneath them and nothing seems to be helping.

I'm just wondering what might be the issue and if I need to replace my keyboard. I'm not sure if it is related but I had my motherboard replaced about a month ago.

Thanks in advance!
