To begin:

I opened my dads e-mail, read it, saw an attachment to it
like a dummy I opened it. I had a pop up, there was no way to close it except hitting 'OK.' I got a virus, I removed the virus, however, my home page is set to "Contere". I have gone to internet options to change it but it reverts back. I also have several new sights listed on my favorites which I do not want, I've done everything I know how (which is very little), I've used spy bot, Ad Aware and Norton Anti Virus, all three find something, the items are removed but only for a very short time, usually they're all back either in a reboot or in about 15 minutes if I dont reboot. Going to different websites they tell me to look under 'run' "regedit"
but I havent found anything that they tell me I should find and I'm very worried about deleting something from my registry... please help.

Thank You.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results. <_<
