Sup GEEKS! :0

How can I turn off this annoying message?

windows has detected a hard disk problem

I know my hard drive is not in good health any more but its saying this now over a year.
I'm waiting till it fails before I buy a new one :P
I turned this message before off but I forgot were this option is.

I found the solution:

For the people which are still searching follow this

open gpedit.msc. Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting and Diagnostics\Disk Diagnostic\

Double Click on “Disk diagnostic: configure execution level”, set it to “disabled”. “Not configured” is enabled by default.

After that restart your pc and it wouldn't bother you anymore!

But that doesn't mean that your hard drive isn't dying anymore

Thanks for all the responses!

I just reinstalled my pc with a clean windows shall I still try this then?
I also installed bitdefender is that enough?
Thanks for your reply!

Do it stepwise as follows:

1. Open command prompt

2. Type chkdsk /r and Enter

3. Tap 'Y' then Enter/Return to run the scan at the next boot

4. Type EXIT

5. Restart your PC

6. Download, install, update antivirus software from below links:
http://www.malwarebytes.org
http://www.superantispyware.com
http://download.cnet...tml?tag=mncol;1

7. when downloaded/installed/updated disconnect from the internet

8. Restart your PC

9. while booting press F5 or F8 and select Safe Mode and boot your pc in safe mode

10. Full scan your pc

Note: If you have updated antivirus then full scan your pc in safe mode.
