Hi all,

Hopefully an easy question for any computer geek but one that's had me chasing my tail for the best part of an hour! Think I've cracked it but just wanted to check. My little laptop is a Lenovo 3000 N200. Basically, I want a larger hard drive. I downloaded the 'PC Wizard' that states my current HDD is:

General Information :
Disk Type : Hard Disk

Peripheral Type : ATA

Manufacturer : WDC WD12
Model : 00BEVS-08RST
Free Space : 9%

I just want to know if this HDD would work as a replacement?

And if not, why not and what one will?

Many thanks for any help with this!

:welcome: shelleywa

The specs for the notebook show the HDD at your link to be compatible http://www.trustedre...-review-summary

Before you make a purchase can I ask if you have an installation disk to install the operating system on the new HDD, also please note that you should always have at least 15% of the overall storage capacity available on the HDD as free space or you risk corrupting the data on the HDD and the drive failing mechanically.

Thanks for your reply! That's a good point about the OS, I hadn't thought of that. However, I have since decided to de-partition my existing HDD to provide more space and to purchase an external HDD to back up to, in case I drop the laptop or something similar.

Many thanks again.

Good decision as I would do the exact same thing

Hope it all goes well for you.
