My Asus x44h laptop hadn't been having any problems. Booted up the other day and received the "disk read error press ctrl+alt+del" error. I've been researching for days and trying various solutions. I have access to the recovery partition and BIOS. Advanced boot options comes up with an I/O error but I can access an alternate screen that gives me the option to "press enter to select windows setup" which just loops back to the I/O error. I've tried creating a bootable USB with the system repair utility on it. This says windows is loading files but then goes to a black screen with an active cursor. My laptop didn't come with any windows installation or recovery disks, and I don't have backups available. The weirdest thing is there's an option in my BIOS called easy BIOS flash and when I enter that screen it shows my hard drive and all its files. Anybody experience anything like this or have any additional solutions I could try?
