Best email client for Windows 8?

Hi folks

I've just bought a new Toshiba loaded with Windows 8. I was expecting a steep learning curve but this is more like a learning cliff!

If I could uninstall and go to Windows 7 I would but looking at other posts it seems that this could be really difficult.

I'm going to try to stick with it but my POP3 email account doesn't work with the Win8 mail client. I was thinking of installing Thunderbird. Does anyone have any advice on it's suitability?
