Hey guys!

This is my first post on this forum, but I'm getting down to business straight away
Recently I bought new parts, and i've seen the phrase ''bottlenecked'' being thrown around alot, so I was just wondering, is this the case with my PC as well?

MOBO : Asus P8H61-MLX
CPU : Intel i5-3450
GPU : Asus 7770 2GB GDDR5
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 320 GB @ can't find the speed x_x
OS : Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
RAM : 2x4 GB Kingston DDR3 @ 1333MHz
PSU : 520W Ecoplus

I've had alot of issues with several games, so could anyone tell me if theres something wrong with my pc?

Can I ask if all parts were out of the box new and the type of issues that you are having please.

Of your list of parts the 1333MHz Ram speed is one thing that you could have improved on by fitting 1600MHz minimum and using a better brand of PSU is another as not all PSUs actually produce the output that the manufacturers claim, we can come back to this once we have the results of the test I have requested below;

Please Run the PCPitstop.com OverDrive Full Tests

Here's how:

You must use your Internet Explorer for this procedure. (doesn't work so well in Firefox or others). If your machine is running Vista or Windows 7, you must Select IE to “Run as Administrator”. After completing PCPitstop OverDrive you can close your IE browser and re-open it Normally so that you are no longer running as administrator.

Go to: http://www.pcpitstop...pit/default.asp
Click on "Free Computer Check-up" listed below PC Pitstop OverDrive
In the User Login - Click on "Sign up FREE!"
You'll need to submit a valid email address and create your own password, then click - Create Account(button)

Now enter your email address and password to Log in, Select - Scan this system Now!(button)
You will then be asked to download an ActiveX component and allow it to install.
It is safe and does not compromise your privacy.
Follow the on-screen prompts to install the ActiveX and to allow the Full Tests to be run on your machine.

The Full Tests take about 2 1/2 - 3 minutes on most machines.
When complete, a Results - Summary - Recommended Fixes will be displayed.

Please post the URL internet address, from your Results, back here into this Topic Thread so that we can review the configuration and present performance levels of your machine.

Note: During the graphics 2D and graphics 3D testing, your screen will display some rapidly moving objects.
If you are sensitive to visual flashing, it may cause dizziness. Therefore, look away from the screen during that portion of the testing.

After reviewing the results we will be more informed and may be able to provide better recommendations for you to work towards improving your machine's performance.

While PCPitstop does offer a variety of Paid Products, the PCPitstop OverDrive testing is FREE. Please ignore the references to Paid Products. We prefer to provide manual solution instructions that you can apply directly to your machine.

Thanks for replying, I have done as you asked and did the test. Although I am not sure if this is the right link.

A friend of mine suggested I should install a program called '"Tuneup utilities 2013" I haven't defragged my drive yet, I'll do that soon.
Also my parts came from a local retailshop, I guess they didn't do anything crazy with them. :-)
Lately i've also been getting these random freezes in my browser, they last for 2 seconds and then I would be able to browse further.

P.S : I noticed my test classified my mouse as a generic PnP mouse, although it's a razer deathadder.

Thanks for the url which works fine btw while I go through the results can you install an anti virus program such as Avast free http://www.avast.com...ivirus-download

Ok, I'm downloading/installing now, although i've never been a fan of free antivirus software
About the tuneup utilities 2013 program, I had my suspicions when I saw the cheezy site. I will avoid these kinds of software from now on, thank moesie for me

Avast and MSE both of which are available free are two of the best AV programs available

No problems with your test results so let us check your temps, PSU voltages and HDD health now;

Download Speedfan and install it. Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.
If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... then after typing in any response you have... click on browse...desktop...find the screenshot..select it and click on the upload button...then on the lower left...after it says upload successful...click on add reply like you normally would.

Depending on the results we may need to run further software for comparison.

Go to Start then to Run/Search
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Management
On right side you will see your hard drive.
Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

Here you go, I'm sorta scared now that I see these huge temps. I hope that's okay!
Also, I just noticed that when my PC has been off for awhile, It makes a weird noise as it boots (like a grinding noise). I've located the problem and it's my PSU, is there any way to fix this without purchasing a new one?
Sorry that I keep piling problems on you...

P.S : I noticed my CPU temp in speedfan keeps going from 72~92 without any steps inbetween.

Your Speedfan readings are inconclusive can you run HWMonitor and again provide a screenshot for us http://www.cpuid.com.../hwmonitor.html we will come back to your HDD afterwards

Sorry about this but HWMonitor is also inconclusive so please remove it and use Everest and provide a screenshot for us;

Download and install Free Everest Home Edition http://www.filehippo...d_everest_home/
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so your temps and voltages can be checked.


DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE THAT SAYS "DEBUG- PCI"

You made me curious though, why not include anything under DEBUG?

Everest is yet again not showing us what we need so remove that, run Speccy and provide a screenshot of your temps and voltages (hopefully) http://www.piriform.com/speccy

One thing I did note from the Everest report was that you need to update your DirectX from 9 to DirectX11 as this will improve your gaming performance http://www.microsoft...es/directx.aspx

Your CPU temps look better did you increase the fan speed.

NB: We do not require the information below the "DEBUG- PCI" line.

I hope this is what you meant, also i did increase fan speed with Speedfan but it switched back. I also noticed Hyperthreading is disabled on my CPU, does this matter?

dxdiag stated that I already have dx11 installed o_O

Still not getting the readings that we need so can you check in your BIOS what the temps and voltages are showing there, it is not ideal but it will give us some idea, the readings that we need are the CPU temp, the +3.3V, +5V and the +12V readings please, the screen may look something similar to the attachment below.

Did you read the guide to using Speedfan that I provided earlier http://www.silentpcr...1275-page1.html

Have you updated to DirectX11 and checked your gaming performance.

Your CPU does not have HyperThreading technology http://ark.intel.com/products/65511 but it does have virtulization technology, something that IT experts often use http://www.intel.com...nsforms-it.html
