Hello!

I am currently having a problem with updatesearches.com with all the typical syptoms described in other topics on this forum (task manager, browser hijacking, warnings...). My operating system is win2000 and so far no spyware detector/anti-virus program has been of any help (SpyBot 1.4, Ad Aware SE personal, F-secure anti-Virus Client Security 5.55). And according to what I have been reading from this forum, this problem is not solved that easily. Anyway, my hijackthis log is posted below. Thank you for your time and patience.

Hi Hannibal80 and welcome to GeeksToGo! My name is Excal and I will be helping you.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP, or Service Pack 4 if you are running Win2k. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

thanks,

:tazz:
