Hello, I have a Dell PC with Windows XP SP3. Originally I had dial up and then upgraded to DSL with AT&T. Have not used computer for over a year and decided to take it to our country house that only has dial up. Connected computer to the LAN line and to our original dial up ISP which we use for another computer at the same location. Was able to bring up Internet Explorer page but cannot navigate to any websites. Browser doesn't seem to recognize the dial up connection. Is there information I need to change somewhere so browser recognizes the dial up? Thanks so much in advance for any help.

Actually that information you posted from Microsoft is the first thing we tried but no luck. We get a window telling us we are connected to the ISP but when I type in a URL on the IE page there just doesn't seem to be any communication between my browser and my dial up. Nothing happens. Well thank you anyway.
