Using a Windows 7, 64 bit Dell.

I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI for Windows using our university's download system (so I know it's safe and authorized copy). When I double-click the .exe file to begin extraction/installation, it automatically uses WinRAR Self-Extracting Archive. I get a pop-up error "Windows cannot find "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\Adobe Acrobat XI\setup.exe." I cannot open/run the file using any other extractor.

I have run Malwarebytes, AVG scan and Spybot - all 3 have turned up nothing infected. I uninstalled all Adobe Acrobat, Reader, and Flash Player files. I have searched for hours and nothing I can find matches this error. Any ideas or solutions are appreciated!

Hi JLD2979,

Welcome to Geeks to go! :)

Sorry for the delay.

You'll need to install the WinRAR extractor to proceed if you don't already have it.

You can find it in the following link:

WinRAR 4.11 (64-bit)

Donna

Thank you. I indeed installed the extractor, which allowed me to manually extract the setup file. Apparently I needed the full functionality of the program to do so. Setup worked like a breeze from there. Thanks!
