Could you go Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right click Command Prompt and select run as administrator
In the black box that opens type the following command :

netsh advfirewall reset

Then retry Google

Hi,
It doesn't give me the option of "run as administrator" -- also, I'm not the administrator on this comp (it's a work laptop). Is that a problem?
Tried it anyway, not as administrator, didn't work (said I need to run as administrator).

As this is a work laptop you will need to check with them that they have not disabled it via group policy

We will need administrative permissions to reset the firewall, which at the moment is all I can think of that blocking it

Do you know what the firewall is on your computer ? I believe it is just the windows one
