Hi,

I have W7 with a version of Avast, not sure which version
Was rebooting and it came up to the Boot Choice screen with only these options showing...

Windows Error Recovery
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Start windows normally


The first 3 options all run down the list of drivers that its loading but get "Stuck" on aswrvrt.sys where it stays for 20-30 seconds. With Start windows normally I get the same end result but don't see the drivers loading.

I've already done (with an usb key) a Farbar Recovery scan with Rufus , and the FRST.txt is attached [attachment=64183:FRST.txt]. Could you help me fix my issue please ?

Hi that indicates the name of the last driver to load before it locked up.. I will remove some protection software drivers. This may mean that some protected games may need to be reloaded

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same USB as FRST
[attachment=64184:fixlist.txt]
Run FRST as before
Press Fix
Allow FRST to work and when completed try a reboot to normal windows

The only other alternative at this stage is to delete the Avast drivers as there are three or four that load after that one..

Are you agreeable to that ?

Yes, why should I disagree ? Could it be very dangerous for the pc or worst than its actual situation ? (And how could I delete them?)

After the reparation, would I be able to reinstal Avast ?

Yes we should be able to re-install it but we will need to ensure that it is full removed first

This will remove the running elements from Avast and hopefully will enable a reboot to normal windows
I have also removed a start driver for Adaware antivirus which may be conflicting

I will also give full re-install instructions for Avast

Download the attached Fixlist.txt to the same USB as FRST

Run FRST as before and press fix

Once done try a reboot


Reinstall Avast

Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
http://files.avast.c...virus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.c...virus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.c...urity_setup.exe
Disconnect from the net

• Run aswClear
• In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
  
• Press Uninstall
• Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
• Reinstall Avast using the custom install
  Deselect Chrome if you do not want it

It's still stuck even in safe mode but now it's stuck at "Windows/System32/DRIVERS/CLASSPNP.SYS"

OK those were my two possible culprits.. It now looks like a windows system problem

Do you have a windows CD perchance ?
