I am receiving the following error when attempting to start the Windows Remote Management service:

"Windows could not start the Windows Remote Management service on Local Computer.

Error 2-The system cannot find the file specified."

My question is: Which file cannot be found?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am still receiving the same error message with both those additional services fully functioning.

Does anyone have WinRM functioning? Could it be that the registry entry is corrupt?

Starts okay for me. I checked dependencies again and this is what it shows me:

Is it possible you could send me the registry entry that contains that information? The dependencies section comes up blank when I retrieve it. Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate.

Sorry, I don't know what the registry entries would be.

Try running System File Checker from a Elevated Command prompt, see if that helps.

Click on Start, type cmd.
Right click on cmd.exe at top left and select Run as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Let it run to completion.

I believe the reason why my WinRM Service won't start is because I have a corrupt registry entry.

If anyone has the Service and can post the registry entry which is found under:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinRM]

I believe this will correct a lot of the problems I am having in attempting to start the Service.

I am also receiving an error in the Description area as well.

Thank you in advance!

I can also send my email address if that is more convenient.

I ran sfc/scannow and it did not fix the problem.

From what I understand the issue is with the registry entry.

Thank you for any assistance!

Adding your Registry entry seems to have helped as I was able to get the Service to start again!

But I am still getting an error with the Description. However I can add a Description manually without receiving an error.

Thank you so much! I will keep you posted to see if the Service continues to function correctly!

Also other Services seem to be working better. So yes so far it does appear the original Registry entry was corrupt!

Thank you again!
