My desktop is XP and my laptop is windows 7. I have a lot of room on my laptop and very little on the desktop to download anything. I want to be able to put a card shop on the laptop and print it from my HP Deskjet. I have tried going to different sites to tell me how to do this and here I am again with nothing done. I do need help with this and really don't want to take it to the shop so they can do it for me. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Hi,
In your case you can't use Homegroup, if both machines are connected to the same network by cable or wireless windows can share files and folders using the network but the setup its a little bit complicated...
A more simple alternative is to use Dropbox. This is how it works, you setup an Dropbox account (it's free) and get 2GB of space to store files in the cloud, you install the client in both computers and log in with your account, a folder called dropbox its created on both computer, after this every file and folder you put there is automatically synchronized across all the computers and also to the cloud space so it can be accessed everywhere if you go to the dropbox site and login.
Check this page How do I sync files between computers?

I shall try that. Thank you. A question for you. Why can I not get on this site with FireFox. Neither computer will take me here if I use my Firefox. I have everything set up for Firefox so it is much easier to do things there. IE takes forever just to get to the site but at least I can get here. Just wondering. I shall copy your instructions and work on that. Thank you.
Dropbox it's easy, in case you have some questions don't hesitate to post.
I use Firefox also and don't have any problem assessing the site, strange...
What happens if you start Firefox in Safe Mode (hold down the shift key while starting Firefox)?
