Were all these monitors the same make and model?
Also is this built on graphics or a add on card?

No...Gateway ev700 17 inch crt, Gateway ev700B 20 inch crt, Gateway 25 inch flat screen LCD, Gateway 25 inch flat screen TFT. The graphics chip is intel on board. Built into the motherboard.

OK well that rules out a monitor issue for sure.
Let me ask can you boot into safe mode and see if it happens still? I'm curious if this is a faulty driver or not.
