could stem from adware/malware already on the system,

1. delete temps and history
2. disable system restore
3. Perform an online or file submission scan
4. Download, install, update and scan with ....
a. AdAware SE
b. spybot -Search and Destroy
c. CWShredder
5. Download, install, update and enable all protection with SpywareBlaster to help keep bad ActiveX from installing, and use SpywareGaurd to provide real-time protection against spyware installation

remove all that is found, repeat all steps 1 thru 4 until cleaned. If problem(s) persist, post back to this thread for further suggestion.
and lastly, install and use Firefox for cleaner browsing.

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty, then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
