It still isn't showing up as SP1, can you please try one more time and if that doesn't work try this.

• Please go here (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer ( not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)
• Click on "Windows Validation Assistant"
• Click on the "Validate Now" button.
• Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
• Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
• Enter your product key then click "continue"
• When it says "Validation Complete" please click "Continue to return to your previous activity"
• Copy what it says and paste it here.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite Here
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet. (if you already have, please just update)

Please download Nailfix from Here
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Download and install CleanUp! Here*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups.
We will use this program later.

Download LQfix Here
save it to your desktop, please do not use yet

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

1. Click this link to be sure you can view hidden files.

2. Ensure you are NOT connected to the internet.

3. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

4. Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for System Startup Service (SvcProc) and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled. (if present)

5. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on
Nailfix.cmd Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

6. Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Post the log from the scan here for me.

7. Close all browsers, windows and unneeded programs.

8. Open HiJack and do a scan.

9. Put a Check next to the following items:

A doswindow will open and close again, this is normal.

13. Run the program CleanUp!

14. Reboot into normal mode and please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!

15. Please post an Active scan log , Ewido Scan log and a fresh HiJackThis log. Let me know how your computer is running.

Hi again,
The Nailfix when I go there says Page cannot be displayed. LQFix was fine and I already had and ran Ewido and Clean Up long ago.

I did what you asked but on step 9, there was no 04 or 023 as listed. I could not check these items off. I also did not understand step 11.

Just a few random bad files and folders to clean up.

Please remove the following folders using Windows Explorer (if present):

C:\Program Files\FwBarTemp
C:\Program Files\sf

• Open HiJackThis
• Click on the configure button on the bottom right
• Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
• Click on "Delete File on Reboot"
• Navigate to this file - C:\WINDOWS\System32\ezPopStub.exe
• Double click on that file.
• HJT asks you if you want to reboot, now. Click "no".
  
  Do that for the following files also, until you get to the last one, then click "yes" when HJT asks you to reboot.

2 pop boxes? not sure what your are saying. Are you saying that you have had 2 popups in a few days? If thats the case, then thats very good...lol. Nothing will stop all popups. Have you changed your browser to firefox?
