Don't seem to be able to get to the command prompt either. I just need to bypass having to log on. With Windows 98 you can just cancel the login and go to a desktop. Isn't there someway to do this on XP?

I believe with XP Home if you boot into Safe Mode you can log on as Administrator by leaving the password field blank.
Haven't done this personally but I've read it in several forums.

Hi Les1451...I have already tried that and it just freezes when I click to log on as Administrator. Won't let me get anywhere at all. I have tried booting every way you can and I am still not able to get to my desktop......Any more ideas? Thanks

I think it only works in 'Classic' style, : When you get the Welcome screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice. This should bring up the Classic Style login screen.
