23red,
OK, I am at step 11 and I hit the back button and I see the following folders:
All users
Default
Default user (shortcut, i think)
Guest
Public
Rich
Test and
Desktop (with a "gear" in it)

I am at step 12

What drop down menu are you refering to?
Thanks,
R

Hi Rich :)

11. At the top of the Computer window, click the back arrow, or in the Users window, Right-click the new user's account name.

• NOTE: If you get a warning that you don't have permissions to access that page, click Continue and you will be given access. If you get a UAC prompt, please allow it.

12. Click on Paste in the drop down menu.

When you right click on the new user's account name in the Users folder, a menu drops down one of the choices within is Paste. This will transfer Rich personal files to the new account. You're taking your personal items and copying and then pasting them in the new uncorrupted account.

Would this be what you mean? Does that help?

Please let me know how it goes!

23red,
I still don't know where to Paste.
The new accounts I created were Test and Richard.
I am at step 11
I presume you want me to Paste to the "Richard" user account
but I can't find it.
I am soooooo lost

Hi Rich :)
On the list above in Post 76, I'm not seeing the Richard account. Make another if you need to. Unwanted ones are easy to remove after we're all done. It's ok. And then Yes, pasting to the Richard account. I know it's kind of spooky, I had to do it before when it happened to me :whistling: I think my hands were actually shaking a little
Just make sure you log into the new account atleast once before you try and paste the info over to it. The desktop has to have been created.
Please let me know how it goes :)

23red,
Ok, got to my new "Richard" account
I guess I missed this the first time through this exercise:
"Just make sure you log into the new account atleast once before you try and paste the info over to it. The desktop has to have been created"
Anyway still don't know what drop down menu you are referring to in step 12.
Thanks,Rich

23red,
Figured out the "paste" in the drop down for step 12.
I had to "skip" 156 times for things that were "already there and didn't need to be copied"
Heck...
Going to log off
and cross my fingers

23red,
Deleted all the accounts but couldn't delete the "Guest" account.
Still can't use Drive Wiper on CCleaner. Still get the Access is Denied.
Can't run Eraser
Lost all of my pictures.
Now what do we do?

Removing accounts was not supposed to be done until created accounts were checked and ok. Only create account and copy files over. Which accounts have you left? I'm going to consult with my teacher and see what if anything can be done as it is now.

Hi Rich :)

First, until your photos are located please do not attempt to use CCleaner. No wiping.

Which profile are you left with please?

23red,
Richard and Guest are the accounts that are left.. Test and Rich are gone. Rich was my primary account. All my docs are gone also. But you probably guessed that already.
Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich :)

Ok, let's try and find your missing items:

Recuva

• Download Recuva from ~> this link <~

• Click Download ~> At the bottom left of the screen, under Download from: choose Piriform.com
It will automatically start.

• Click the arrow by Save to choose Save As and save to your Desktop.

• Right Click the installer and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

• Select Language and click Next.

• Uncheck the Add Start Menu Shortcuts box and click Install.

• Uncheck the View Release Notes box and click Finish

• The Recuva Wizard screen will show click Next.

• Check All Files ~> Next ~> I'm Not Sure ~> Next ~> Click on Start

The scan will begin.

• Click OK when complete and the Recuva window will open.

• Checkmark all the files found you wish to recover, Select the Switch to Advanced Mode button then select Options

• Select the Actions Tab and check Restore folder structure box and click Ok

• Click Recover and select Desktop ~> click OK ~> Yes and Ok when complete.

• The folders should be restored, if found.

Please let me know how it goes.

23red,
That worked great. Thank you sooooo much. I have my pictures back!
I still can't use drive wiper on CCleaner nor can I use Erasure. I have "run as administrator " for both of them. Same error code as before. I even uninstalled and reinstalled CCleaner!
