Hi everyone. I have been reading through your site and it appears I have the same problem as some other people who have posted. Pop-ups, party poker icon. I have scanned my system multiple times following the instructions in the beginning. Ewido does not find the trojan downloader.lastad.h unless I am on the internet. Doesn't seem to detect it in safe mode? but when I sign on it finds it, tells me to reboot to clean..then never does clean it?
Anyway here are my logs from Hijack and Ewido. I hope someone can help.

Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as lastadrem.reg
Set filetype to all files and save it to somewhere you can find it easily.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"cchebtx"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"cchebtx"=-

*Click here and download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cchebtxndw30104lib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cchebtx.exe

[/b]

*Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
*Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Doubleclick the file we made ( lastadrem.reg ) and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Reboot back to normal and download: DelDomains.inf
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also

Run HjiackThis and post the resulting log.

Thanks so much Metallica. I ran a Panda Active Scan and Ewido scan for the heck of it yesterday to make sure my system was clean. And they both found more stuff.

Here is the logs from them and a new hijack log. I dont see anything suspicious in hijack but then again I am not the expert. You guys are.. :tazz:

Thanks again!!

Well the Nimda was a good catch by Ewido.

Your log is still clean, but you ought to get some protection against those cookies.

Were there any problems with the computer?

I have had a couple pop ups today that I normally do not have..Other than that the computer is acting good. I have Mcafee and am thinking of dumping it..Pretty ticked it didnt catch any of this. I think I may subscribe to Ewido permanently unless you can recommend something else. Now what do you suggest on catching these cookies? There are so many programs out there. :tazz:
Thanks a million once again.

You don't need a program to stop cookies.
http://privacy.getne...cookiesadvanced

Are the popups coming from one source that you can tell?
Or could they be site-related?

No I believe they are site specific. There were two so far this am..What is your take on getting rid of Mcafee? Think Ewido is ok to go with?
Thanks again for your expertise! Much appreciated! :tazz:

Well. I don't consider Ewido a replacement for McAfee.

Although it has been making big improvements lately and it helps us tremendously in fighting of spyware and trojans, Ewido is not an antivirus.

If you do not like McAfee there are lots of alternatives:
Have a good read here:
