You could use a MB costing $170 and get the same gaming performance.

Thank you for the advice and i was wondering how much of a powerful computer could i get with 1500 dollars

Oh almost forgot I have OS already for when the computer comes.

While iammykyl is offline I will chime in if that is ok;

If you only intend on gaming and not taking up 3D modeling, CAD or professional video editing you can save a large amount of cash by choosing an i5 processor such as the 4670k, the money saved will allow for adding an SSD for faster boot times and access to you favourite games.

I will put an alternative list of parts together for you to look over and no doubt iammykyl will also do the same when he returns.

What type of OS disk do you have as in is it a full retail or an OEM disk, this is important because if the disk is an OEM type and the product key has been used with another MB then it cannot be reused as it is tied to the original MB, if the disk is the full retail type then as long as the product key is not still being (or has never been) in use on another computer then it can be used.

the OS im going put on the computer is windows 7 home premium and the CD and key have never been used

Thanks for keeping us updated.
Some tips for first time builders.
Download the User manuals as they are often more up to date than those in the box and you can also familiarize yourself with them.
The G2G how to build, thanks to Troy and Artellos, > http://www.geekstogo...r-own-computer/ Take note of the safety and anti static measures.
You will find it easier to build if you proceed in this order.
Change the I/O shield in the case.
Check careful that the stand offs on the MB mounting plate match exactly the pattern and number of screw holes in the MB.
Then, working on a piece of cardboard a little larger than the MB.
Install the CPU, > heatsink/fan, (CPU fan plug to CPU fan header on the MB.) > RAM, (correct slots from MB manual), > PSU, > optical/HDD/s, (leave the bay opposite the end of the PCI.e slot, for video card, empty, > install the MB.
Complete the rest of the build.
Check over the wiring. (MB requires two power cables to enable successful Boot)
