Just installed 8 and now am looking at tweaking a few things.

First thing is I cant seem to find those two little computer thingys in my tray - the ones that show your connected.

I had all my chrome favourites there and then I clicked - reopen chrome in w8 format or something and now my favs gone?

Not too sure on your Chrome issue but you can get a start menu using ClassicStart or Start8. You can look into Fences by Stardock (Start8 manu').

I've personally grabbed my theme I am using from CreativX and then used my own tweaks to the theme, plus that utility above - Then added Classic Start and tweaked it out.

Yeah, cool. I am past thos issue now as I have just accepted that I have lost all my favs. Anyhow - onto the next issue with 8.

Look into using a Google account to keep your favorites or do what I did, get LastPass and XMarks and never have any issues :)
