I did a pretty bad mistake and put a wlan card wrong way around. It was Anatel WN5301A. I put it in the right slot (PCI) I managed to put it wrong way around. My PC booted for 1 second and then shut down. It usually means that something shorted and PSU turned itself off. I tried to boot it for 2-3 times until I removed the wlan card. Now It boots and I dont get any display. I tried onboard graphics, 2 other graphics cards but nothing. Tried reseating RAM. Fans, hard drive leds etc. work so its getting power. The cables were fine. Should I replace my motherboard? Could it have damaged my other hardware?
My motherboard is Asus M5A78L-M LX3
Power supply: Cooler Master GX 750W

Sometimes you have to simply replace suspected bad parts. It's a 44.00 board.
Also when I have a display issue I move it to another computer just to be sure. When you put the card in backwards anything is possible.

You may like to try the following.

With the PSU switched off. Take anti static measures by briefly touching a bare part of the case. Look for the clear CMOS jumper on the MB, > move the jumper over, leave for 5 seconds, > move back to normal position, > switch on the PSU. press start button.

I already tried to take the battery out for 10 seconds and putting it back to reset bios. Didnt help.

Without a display it is very hard to perform a diagnostic.
If when you press the start button, the lights on the keyboard flash, this indicates the BIOS has started to POST, but not reaching the display, a component or part of the MB is damaged or not seen.

If you do not have the user manual, to download go, > http://www.asus.com/...LM_LX3/#support
You have not reported hearing any beeps, so looks like you do not have a System speaker installed like this, > http://www.cwc-group.com/casp.html, page 23 of the user manual.
If POST is not successful, you will hear a beep code which can give an indication of what is wrong. Codes are in the MB manual.
Before replacing any parts, I would install a speaker, test and post the results, It could be the RAM damaged, not the board.

Keyboard lights dont flash. I dont have a slot for the speaker in my motherboard. I also dont think that it could be ram cause adding wlan card shouldnt have anything to do with ram. But with a possibility that the ram broke with the motherboard.

Partially correct but if the MB has been shorted out in any way each component that was connected to the MB at the time may also have been damaged.

But with a possibility that the ram broke with the motherboard.

I concur with iammykyl and suggest that you obtain a BIOS speaker for testing purposes (see second attachment) follow the previously advised safety steps, connect the BIOS speaker, remove the Ram, reassemble the computer (minus the Ram) turn on the power and let us know if you get any error beeps, if you do it suggests that the Ram may be bad, if you get no error beeps it suggests a problem with the MB or an outside chance the PSU.

Not a good sign I'm afraid. The keyboard/mouse are usually early on a plug and play system in the "detect list" of the BIOS. Until you can test with a system speaker installed, try the following.
if the keyboard is USB? test in another port.
test the keyboard on another computer.


Try booting with a PS/2 keyboard attached.
