Hi PhrantiQ,
I have uninstalled everything except the Acer Remote...I keep getting the attached message. I've tried twice but cannot find a way to delete the mentioned file....

I just ran the MiniToolBox again & get the following result....plus I remembered to copy/paste all of the log report this time! (sorry):

You can look into the following for removals:
Game Channels (Version: 8.1.0.17)
Jewel Match 3 (Version: 2.2.0.98)
John Deere Drive Green (Version: 2.2.0.95)
Live Updater (Version: 2.00.3007)
Magic Academy (Version: 2.2.0.98)
Plants vs. Zombies - Game of the Year (Version: 2.2.0.98)
Tales of Lagoona (Version: 2.2.0.110)
Update Installer for WildTangent Games App
WildTangent Games (Version: 1.0.4.0)
WildTangent Games App (Version: 4.0.10.5) Also Nero likely has a lot of startup services, you may be able to disable some in MSCONFIG to help speed up your system. As for the Remote removal, it seems like it's a permission item. It likely isn't doing to much and wont save you much resources, so I wouldn't bother.

Thanks again PhrantiQ...all removed.

May I ask for your advise on the re-partitioning mentioned earlier? Not sure how to do this so do not want to make a mistake....

Honestly, I am not a fan of multiple partitions on your primary drive. So you see how it is listed as the below quote:

1 Drive c: (Acer) (Fixed) (Total:457.26 GB) (Free:368.07 GB) NTFS
2 Drive d: (DATA) (Fixed) (Total:457.26 GB) (Free:456.46 GB) NTFS

Now this can be taken as two ways, 2 500 GB drives or 1 1 TB drive partitioned in two. Can you confirm which it is based on your knowledge of your new machine? If not, we can run additional tests to get the answer to this so do not worry.

As for it running much faster and such, very glad to hear it! Also glad we were able to free up multiple GB's of space by removing all the junkware/bloatware for you.

I understood (?) it to be a 1Tb drive with partitioning, but I cannot prove this. I think I remember that from the shop ad.....
I had a dig around on the machine but cannot find anything to prove it, so I guess some further testing would be best to resolve this...Thanks again!

Easiest way is to open your Computer Management, then use the sub-utility of Disk Management. You can get to this by 'Right Clicking' on Computer and selecting Manage. On here go to your Disk Management part. In here, it lists disks as Disk #. On that list, do you see a Disk 0 that has both (C:) and (D:)? They should be on the same line. Then on the left hand side, you should see it like the following quote...

Disk 0
Basic
931.51 GB
Online

Obviously the line about '931.51 GB' will vary but it should be in the 900's to indicate a TB drive.

If you've been able to verify both of these, then it is indeed a single TB drive. Please let me know. If you are unsure, try taking a screen shot and posting it here. Lastly, if it's different try to explain it further.

If needed, we can do this test through other methods.

Yup it's a single, 1 TB drive. Now what I'd like you to do is go browse through your D:\ drive and make sure any data/files you have there is moved over to your C:\. I don't expect you to find anything, to be honest - But I rather be safe than sorry.

Once you've done that, go back into the Disk Management window and 'Right Click' on the (D:) drive. In the options menu, please select Delete Volume. This should then take D: and make it a black, unallocated partition/space. Reboot your computer when its done.

Once rebooted, return to Disk Management and 'Right Click' on your C: drive and select Extend Volume. On the new pop-up window you'll want to select all the free space you just cleared up. Then let it process your request, reboot and take a new screen shot of your Disk Management please.

Of course I don't mind. I've already wrote the step out, you can read/follow it when ever you have time. I wont take it personal, haha. Enjoy the trip and I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Back again.....thanks for you patience! :)
OK, I ran through the steps above with no problem....until after the re-boot after deleting the 'D' drive. Everything works OK but when I went in to the disk management I couldn't see the additional space to be selected.
I did notice that the 'Total Volume size in megabytes was 936465....so maybe the space has already been allocated?

Because it's already unallocated, it added it to that automatically. Did you go through 'next' options?

Yup. Now it's more evened out for you. So now you don't have to worry about C:\ space down the line.

Excellent....so I did it right!!

Very many thanks for your help on this my friend...it is much appreciated!

You guys provide what is basically a free service, but I appreciate this uses up your own time. I have been 'advertising' your site to anyone I know who ever mentions any sort of an issue/problem/question regarding their PC.

To show some gratitude, is it possible to make a donation to the site?
