Android tablet charger does not work in outlet

I have a new Ematic 7" tablet. The charger does not work. I get a battery image with a warning sign or red signal whenever I try to charge with the charger that came with the tablet. It charges when I connect my USB to micro cord in my laptop, but under normal circumstances I would only do that to drop files from my laptop to my tablet. I have a 30 day warranty with the seller and a 2yr warranty with a pvy warranty company. Just did not want to be without my tablet for long for something that could be solved easily. The first time I got the tablet, it charged fine.
