Hi Rays Fan.

You will lose everything that "you" installed since you purchased the Laptop. Usually computers come with a trial version of Anti Virus and often that is McAfee and or Norton. Doing a factory restore is almost like reformatting or reinstalling the operating system. Everything that you created installed is gone, you will even see the pre installed bloatware many laptops come with. If you contact McAfee they may instruct you on how to renew your McAfee subscription.

Thank you for this information. I have tried doing system restore and I wondered why all my installed apps were lost, now I know why.

Hi lisabrown,

Just to clarify in case of any confusion.

Please don't get System Restore in windows confused with Factory restore in which this topic is discussing.

Thanks,

Joe :)
