Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my desktop's pentium processor. I've found two possible replacements. One is an i5 and the other is an i7. The i7 looks better(duh), but I'm wondering if it is compatible with my machine. Here are the two processors and the info of my computer. Are both or either of these processors compatible with my machine?

The processor I have: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116399

The i5: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116876

Also, I don't if it is relevant or not, I have an AMD Radeon HD 6570 graphics card.

I want to have this figured out before Cyber Monday when, hopefully, the stuff I need will go on sale. Thanks everyone.

We could do with knowing your MB information so please run Speccy and post the url to see if it identifies your MB, detailsHere

The linked CPUs are the correct socket but there may be another compatibility problem such as a BIOS issue so we need to try and confirm it one way or another.
