OK when you get to the command prompt on the recovery console
Copy the following programme to a USB drive :
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Boot from the CD
Click repair my computer
Select your operating system
Select Command prompt
Insert the USB with FRST
At the command prompt type the following :
notepad and press Enter.
The notepad opens. Under File menu select Open.
Select "Computer" and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
In the command window type e:\frst64.exe and press Enter
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
The tool will start to run.
When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please copy and paste it to your reply.

You need to save FRST to the root c drive as that is where the command was expecting to find it

The documents folder is a few levels away from the main c drive.. So you will need to save it to c:\frst64.exe
Then at the command prompt type CD C:
Then type FRST64.exe
Then at the command prompt type CD C:
Then type FRST64.exe

So I went back to the windows recovery and went all the way back to cmd prompt and got frst to open and it tells me that it is starting up to please wait. Then it just disappears.... When I retune in the command to open it tells me that it is not a recognized command.... What the....... Getting very frustrated....
