TTry this, open a windows explorer and then:


Go to Folder Option
Click on the View tab.
Check “Do not show hidden files and folders”.
Check to “Hide protected operating system files (recommended)”.
Click OK.



to e honest I dont see anything calle folder options

I opened explorer from the dustbin

:lol: Yeah I was stuck on XP but once I took the plunge to Win7 i was hooked. Going to Win8 and now Win8.1 was easy from that point for me.
How is the system running if you have everything installed and working now? Any other problems pop up now?

8.1 is umm shall I say _______ !

alot of things are hidden . I got used to huffy vista now this

Im sure I accidentally threw one ghost icon away but Im guessing it may have regenerated so as to protect the laptop

doesnt help that Im not gadget and tech savy

Yes but now that you have clicked the items they should not show up on the desktop anymore even if they do regenerate themselves.

doesnt help that Im not gadget and tech savy

I know this all to well. I don't have a cel phone, laptop, tablet, kindle or netbook. I am happy just having my desktop and helping others here. The rest of my family all have the little toys and they can keep them.
