Monitor loses signal, but desktop stays running

I have my desktop connected to the TV via VGA and the monitor would lose signal. I would then reset the computer and after a couple minutes it would happen again. I've tried different VGA cables and another monitor and it happens. Is this most likely a onboard graphics issue?
