Hi guys,

The network and sharing center shows that i have internet access but i cannot surf the internet. This problem only happens to this laptop and only happens when i am in the living room. The router is in the living room while i have another router acting as a universal repeater in my room. In my room, i have no problem surfing the internet. When i off the universal repeater though, i cannot surf anymore. Same problem happens with IE. Any advice will be appreciated :)

Sounds like you are trying to do Wi-Fi roaming with access points form different vendors and your wireless network card may also not support it or have features enabled for it.
Are both routers providing DHCP services. If they are then ensure you are getting the right gateway from the router in the living room (non-universal repeater). A quick way to check this and establish correct settings is to connect to the Univeral reapeater wireless , confirm you can browse the internet, then look at your ip settings - from a command prompt type ipconfig all. Check ip address, ip gateway, and DNS servers.
Then connect to the living room Wi-Fi router. I suggest you disable the wireless card then re-enable once you are in the living room. Once connected check the ip settings (ipconfig /all from a command prompt) . Compare gateway addresses. If it turns out the ip addressing information matches, I suggest naming the two networks (the SSIDs ) something different from each other if they are they same SIDs now.
I have three different Wi-Fi access points at home but they all have different SSIDs. I have no problems switching from one to the other. I just tell my system to connect automatically the networks.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed the SSID of my main router but it only worked for a short while. Thanks for the help though. Problem is this issue only happens to this laptop and not my other laptops. Hence, i am just wondering if there is something wrong with the compatibility of the network card of this laptop. This is the ipconfig when i am able to surf the net.
