Cant get into the BIOS. Tried a couple times and it takes me straight into automatic repair. It just keeps going to here.

According to the manual F2 should work.

How about choosing Boot in Safe Mode from the Startup Settings menu?

I have looked and looked and cant find anything to help. I am trying to get my sons Gateway laptop running again. I have tried suggestions of F8 and that leads me no where. We do not have a disk. This laptop already had the win8 downloaded when he bought it. I tried disabling the automatic restart to no avail. He is not worried about saving anything, just wants his computer running again. I am computer illiterate and I know basics but thats it. Help!!!

Hi Frustratedmomagain,

I have been googling for possible solutions to your problem, the first one that I have found that might help you is from this website called Spyware Info Windows 8, 64 bit PC won't boot!

Also from Majorgeeks, about booting for your laptop Gateway NE56R31U No Boot Device at startup

Please let me know if these work.

If you have no recovery discs (you should have burned them as soon as you got the computer) then you will need to contact Gateway (especially if this laptop is fairly new)they will walk you through it like Hewlett Packard did with me and/or send you a recovery media, because you can't even access the computer to get recovery anything right? Are you on another computer right now talking to us? To solve this in a hurry contact Gateway, bottom line they have the answers, and the recovery media.Good luck
