I have recently upgraded my computer from windows 7 to windows 8 and when plugging in my iphone it said that I had the 32-bit installed not the 64-bit so I couldn't sync my phone, I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes using the 64-bit installer but it rolls back the action when copying new files.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes, iTunes may meet with some problems, especially if your iTunes version has some mistakes. In some extents, when you connect your iphone to iTunes, it may erase your iPhone data automatically. Thus, you'd better use iPhone Transfer/iCloud to sync your iPhone data.
