reset without cd

I have A COMPAQ presario CQ50 i want to do a reset on it my boyfriends dad owned the computer before i did and i dont want it to reset to what he had because he had a ton of things downloaded on it to where it ran really slow and things i dont use so please help i want to make it all mine and to where it runs proper.

Hi Jerijedi :welcome:

If no one removed the original restore partition on the disk you can restore the laptop to Factory Defaults (like when they start it for the first time) by following the instructions on this link.
