After boot and login XP freezes when clicking an icon.

Safe mode works fine. I have gone through every spyware and virus
scan that I know of, but problem persists.

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files.

Use safe mode with networking to get Tuneup trial

http://www.tune-up.com

Run disc clean up then registry clean up, then click optimize to run reg defrag, which needs a reboot.

After the reboot, run disk defragmenter then open tune up, click optimize, system optimizer, optimize computer configuration, which needs a reboot
