I have just installed Windows 7 to have a dual boot system with XP.

In the Win 7 setup no audio device is detected. In XP I have the Realtek 'AC97  with the VIA chipset HDeck Application v. 7.1.00.33.

How do I go about getting this working - do I need a new sound card?

Please advise - thanks

Hello,

Have you some exclamation marks in device manager ?

Can you give exact model of your Mo-Bo ?

Thanks for responding.

I have just now got my speakers working. My ASRock motherboard was only set for XP so I found out how to access ASRock's website in Taiwan to download the driver for Win 7.

I thought there could have been problems as I was told my AMD processor was AM2 but really is AM3 and the download for Win 7 32 bit was showing 64 bit in the download label but the X on my speaker icon went and it plays sound OK.

So job done,
