Dear Geekstogo,

Since this morning when connecting an ethernet cable my trackpad on laptop is not work/lagging/working intermittently. As soon as I remove the internet it either works immediately or requires a reboot before working normally again. I used hitmanpro and malwareantibytes and both didn't find anything that could have caused an issue. I myself found a program called Vprotect running in the tskmgr and also avg toolbar installed. Uninstalled avg toolbar and all the registry files, also found the same program installed many times called something like "Active X Windows remote control". it was installed in 4 or 5 languages, I removed all and still have the same issue.

Tried a system restore but the only system restore point I have whenever I try it there seems to be a problem and it will not complete (after reboot gives me an error message).

Hope you guys can help me, I'm worried as I used online banking today (although i guess nothing can be transferred without a TAN code sent by SMS to my phone).

I did try to find a search feature before posting this incase it is a common issue (google doesn't think so) and please feel free to move the thread to malware/virus room if it is better there.

Would appreciate your help sincerely,

A very puzzled Phil
