I have looked for a while for a laptop that can perform well and is the best bang for my buck, under or around 500.00. But is there something I am missing? I am not looking to play intensive games but would play one or two old ones.

If I am in the wrong thread just let me know which one to go to.

I'd advice

HP Pavilion 17-e040us

if you are comfortable with 17'' size.

The only cons compared to Acer is the processor, but i3 is still a powerful enough modern stone.

Pros: screen resolution (you'll love it), 6gb RAM, hdd size
