On my wife's computer, Win. 7 64 bit gets a pop up saying to update to Java SE 11.5.2.13. I cannot find anything about SE 11. What is it talking about?

If you are not aware of this already, Java is deemed as a security risk and so recommended that it is not installed, if your wife runs a particular program that requires Java to run then it should be enabled and disabled as and when that particular program or web browser is used.

To disable Java see here

Java can easily be uninstalled in the Control Panel..

Hope this answers your question.

There are so many web sites(including this one) that will not function unless you have Java installed I don't see how you get by without it.

Please help. I have run Malwarebytes, Hit Man Pro ,Super Antispyware and a scan with Avira. I did this because I cannot find out why this pop up is happening. I have checked every where in the system and the only version of Java I can find is the Java Plugin for Fire Fox and it is up to date..

Sounds like you may need the help of the experts over on the malware forums  :(

Please read the 'Start Here' topic found here. With these self-help tools you have a high chance of fixing the problems on your own. If you are still having problems after following Step 3 of the guide, continue with Step 4 and 5 and post in the Malware Forum. If you are unable to run any programs, Please create a topic stating what you have tried so far and that you are unable to run any programs. Also, Please do NOT post the logs in this thread.

If you are still having issues after the malware expert gives you a clean bill of health, Please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
